Thoughts, Emotions, and Health

Chinese Medicine often looks at balancing the emotions as part of an effective treatment. Each Organ treated in acupuncture has an associated emotion connected to it. In an Acupuncture treatment, balancing the emotional aspect of the Organ System, as well as treating the Organ itself and its corresponding Channel, is crucial.

Here is a great TED article explaining how some emotions and thought patterns present a barrier to wellness and accelerate the effects of aging. Whether it's the Liver's connection to anger, the Spleen's tendency toward rumination and worry, this article explains why it's a good idea to pay attention to when these thoughts are taking over, and what you can do to help.

In addition to the suggestions made in the article, Acupuncture is a great way to help with emotional equilibrium as well. Why not visit your local licensed Acupuncturist to assist you toward a more vital and balanced you! Give it a try!
